Modern Compliance

Modern Compliance is the name for how Trace runs client engagements: the existing delivery discipline in Delivery Methodology, made visible and immediate instead of happening behind email threads and a private spreadsheet. It is not new capability. It is the same rigour, surfaced.
The founder anchor for this, already recorded in Voice Guide: "We need to be fast, smart, and use technology where we can," not an old-fashioned technical file drawn up the way it was forty years ago.
The pillars
| Typical PPE consultancy | Modern Compliance |
|---|---|
| Enquiry lands in a generic inbox, answered in days, often bounced to "raise it with your test house" | Direct channel to Glen, in the client's own tool, chosen at induction |
| Onboarding is a drip-fed email chain, asking for the same information twice | One structured digital intake form, sent once, replacing the back-and-forth |
| Progress lives in the consultant's own spreadsheet; client sees it at report-out | A shared task list, visible to both sides, updated live through the engagement |
| Client can't tell if the retainer is being used until the invoice arrives | Visible activity in the shared list/log: decisions and actions recorded as they happen |
| Technical questions that would go to a test house or notified body queue for days | Answered directly and immediately, because Glen already holds that authority |
Client-tool-agnostic by design
Trace does not run a proprietary client portal. At induction, the client picks the tool they already live in: Microsoft Teams, Slack, WhatsApp Business for general chat, or Notion if they use it. Trace works inside whichever tool the client chooses rather than asking the client to learn a new one. This is itself a differentiator, not just an implementation detail: it removes onboarding friction and reads as working with the client's business, not around it.
Applies across all six services, at different depth
Modern Compliance is not limited to the ongoing services. Every service gets it, expressed proportionately to its shape:
- Route Finder — a fixed five-day sprint. The intake is consolidated and digital; the five days are visible through the shared channel instead of a silent wait; the close is a live walk-through, not a cold PDF.
- Certification Project — a multi-week managed delivery. Trace's own high-spec submission form and direct factory communication (existing practice, see Services) become visible through the shared channel; weekly status updates become a live thread.
- Range Review — a structured audit. The per-product register builds visibly through the review instead of arriving as one final report; uncertain items are confirmed in-channel as they're found.
- Issue Support — urgent intervention. Same-day direct triage, a visible action list with owners and deadlines, the existing "not a guaranteed-resolution service" boundary held exactly as before.
- Technical Ownership — the fullest expression. Direct answers replace the test-house/notified-body question queue; the shared task list is the retainer's own visible pulse; at the Operations level, new-product documentation work runs the same way Certification Project does.
- Team Training — capability that outlives the session. The existing structured intake and follow-up action summary become genuinely tracked, ticked-off actions in the shared list rather than a forgotten PDF, without implying an ongoing retainer.
What Modern Compliance does not change
The boundaries in Delivery Methodology and Voice Guide hold exactly as before: no guaranteed outcome, no control over an independent test house, certification body or regulator's decision, no strengthened wording of an external decision. Modern Compliance changes how visible and how fast the work is. It does not change what Trace can promise.
